When it comes to picking out the members of your bridal
entourage, you want to ensure that they are people who are really close to you.
They may either be your siblings, best friends, or even your relatives. If
you’re picking out a ring bearer or a flower girl, however, you may go for the
child of a relative or a friend. If you have a child of your own, you may also
include him in your entourage.
When you’re picking a ring bearer, there are some things
that you will need to consider before you choose one. Here are some of the
things you need to think about when looking for a ring bearer:
Age
Usually, ring bearers fall within the age of three to eight.
Even though you may want your toddler nephew to fill in this role, you will
have to consider how ready he is to walk down the aisle carrying your wedding
rings on the ring pillow. Children at that age are very unpredictable and may
run off with your rings. If you insist, however, you can include his parent to
walk him down the aisle so he can successfully do his job as a ring bearer.
Sociable
Another thing you have to consider is how sociable the
little boy is. You will need to have a ring bearer who will not be too shy to
walk down the aisle and have everyone look at him. In turn, he has to smile
during this part of the wedding. Also, he should know that he is carrying
something, which is why he needs to be careful not to trip on the altar runner.
Clothing
Lastly, a ring bearer will need to wear a tuxedo or another
piece of clothing that stays true to the style of your wedding theme. The ring
bearer you choose needs to be comfortable with the clothes he wears so that he
will not suddenly throw a tantrum.
Your ring bearer will be carrying your wedding rings. For
this reason, you need to pick out a nice ring pillow that will not only have
the color of your wedding theme, it should also hold your wedding rings in
place securely.
