5 Ideas for a Glam Wedding

Your wedding is one of the most festive and beautiful events in your life. Naturally, you will want to shine and be happy about all of the things comprising this big day. If you are planning for a very glamorous and beautiful wedding, you should definitely read on. We have gathered the top 5 ideas for a truly glam wedding!

Choose a venue that really goes with the theme. If you can’t go for a really tall ballroom, choose something that feels airy and “open” because this will contribute a lot to the “grand” atmosphere you want to create.

Lightning is everything when it comes to glam weddings, so always make sure to choose it the right way. There’s really no such thing as “too much”: garland lights, chandeliers, lamps and whatever else you find will do the trick and they will all add that special glamorous feeling you are searching for.

Sequins, mirrors and shiny décor will reflect the light in a very beautiful way and they will contribute a lot to the overall look of your wedding reception. Also, don’t limit yourself to the centerpieces and floral arrangements when it comes to decorating your wedding in the glam style. In fact, choosing sequin table linens may be a very good choice as well.

Since you will already add a lot of shine and sparkle to the décor, you should try to keep your color theme as simple as possible. Gold/white, silver/white and black/white combinations usually work best for this kind of theme.

Big flower arrangements can be a great idea too. However, make sure you don’t overdo it with the other décor items if you want to keep it classy and elegant.

Flourtown Country Club is the perfect wedding venue for glam weddings – so if you have your heart settled on this theme, do make sure to pay us a visit. We really believe our gorgeous location will make for a stunning wedding for you and your loved one!

Bridal Suite for your Wedding Day

As our lives go on, we live through many beautiful moments: the first day of school, the first kiss, the first relationship, graduating and so on. But none can “beat” the beauty of finally tying the knot!

As a bride-to-be, you’ve probably planned this a lot. In fact, you’ve probably “married” your dolls about a thousand times as a kid, imagining that they were you. But now that the big day is getting nearer, you are probably overwhelmed by the huge number of things you should be dealing with.

A bridal suite is a great way to allow yourself to take a deep breath before the big I Do. If you can find a wedding venue that offers you with a place to relax for a few hours before the wedding, do go for it because it will be definitely worth it! Here are some of the best things about having a bridal suite at your disposal:
  • You don’t have to rush. Most venues will allow their brides to spend a few hours in the suites before the ceremony so that they can take their time while getting ready.
  • You will not have to worry about your hairdo and makeup getting ruined before the big moment. Aside from your dress, your hair and makeup will contribute a lot to the way you feel walking down the aisle. Having a bridal suite at your disposal also means that you will be within walking distance of the ceremony site and that your hair and makeup will look perfect by the time you get there too.
  • You can shoot some really beautiful pictures in your bridal suite. You can include your bridesmaids, your mother and anyone else who will be there to help you get ready.
Flourtown Country Club is a wedding venue that can really make sure your wedding day will be amazing. We will offer you a private bridal suite, food and drinks and the most beautiful venue you have ever seen! Come visit us and convince yourself we’re the best choice there is!

Fall Wedding Décor Ideas

Without any trace of doubt, fall is one of the most romantic seasons ever. Beautiful and sad at the same time, this season is one of the most popular ones when it comes to weddings – and not without any trace of doubt. The weather now is not too hot and not too chilly, the landscape makes for perfect pictures and everything in the air is elegant and graceful as well.

If you are planning your own fall wedding, you will definitely love to acquire some inspiration when it comes to your décor as well. We have gathered some of the very best ideas out there. Check them out and inspire yourself to create the most beautiful wedding ever!

1. Generally speaking, “fall wedding colors” range between yellow and orange (sometimes with black and red accents). However, these are not the only fall colors you can settle for. In fact, there is a very wide range of other colors that look splendid for this season: cranberry, dusty blue, plum shades and so on.

2. Everything can be inspired by the fall: from the food you are serving to the drinks your guests will have and from your bouquet to the table linens. However, if you do settle on a particular color scheme, make sure not to overdo it. You only need “accents” in these colors – not to use them on every single wedding item!

3. Leaves and twigs make for wonderful center pieces, so do not be afraid to use them. Even if your wedding colors are not yellow and brown, you can always ask your florist to spray paint the leaves in your chosen colors (dark plum shades for the leaves and silver for the branches, for example).

Don’t be afraid to use your imagination because here at Flourtown Country Club, we can offer you a wedding venue that is as versatile and as romantic as fall itself. Come pay us a visit and convince yourself that this is the wedding venue you have been dreaming of ever since you were a little child!

Top 10 ways to Personalize Your Wedding Ceremony

Your wedding day! You have been dreaming about it ever since you were a little girl playing with dolls. You have been planning it, thinking it, re-thinking it and you have played its “movie” in your mind over and over again.

Just as the reception proper, your wedding ceremony should speak about you, about who you are and about your very own fairy tale story. It should reflect the most beautiful things in your life and it should reflect you as well. How do you personalize your wedding ceremony? Here are our top 10 favorite ways to do it:

1. The aisle. Forget about the red aisle runner and go for something really special, such as flowers or messages written by those you love.

2. The flowers. Pick flowers that really show the beauty of this occasion, but make sure you sprinkle them with some personality as well.

3. The bridesmaids. Your attendants don’t have to be traditional if you don’t want them to. For instance, their bouquets can easily be replaced by fancy clutch purses, by silk fans or by romantic candles as well.

4. The backdrop of your ceremony can also be personalized as well. Choose something that goes well with the rest of the wedding and with your own personality too.

5. The music. You don’t have to go for the good, old “Here comes the bride” if you don’t want to. Pick whatever song you find meaningful!

6. The chairs. Decorate the chairs nicely, but try to forget about the already traditional silk bow. Think outside of the box and be creative!

7. Place the chairs in a circle around the altar and you will create an intimate and “warm” feeling.

8. Offer your guests tokens of your gratitude at the ceremony too. Signature drinks (alcoholic or not) can be a great way to welcome them, for example.

9.Having an outdoor summer ceremony? Personalize silk fans, sun glasses and water bottles and offer them as wedding favors to your guests.

10. Your programs can reflect who you are as well, so do not hesitate to be creative about choosing them!

Flourtown Country Club will be more than happy if you chose us as your wedding venue. The splendid landscape surrounding us, our beautifully designed place and the warmth of our staff will be there to make sure everything goes smoothly on your big day. Even more than that, we will love to see you “take” our place and make it “yours” by personalizing it to fit your tastes and who you are!

Should I choose a DJ or a band?

Your wedding is a big day indeed and every tiny detail will have to be thought of with great care. From your bouquet to the wedding cake and from the wedding favors to the Thank You cards, it seems that the list of things to do is endless.

One of the things you will definitely not want to leave for last is the music you will be having at your wedding. Basically, you have two main options: going for a DJ or going for a band. Which one is more suitable for you though? Here are some tips you may want to consider:
  • ·         A DJ is more likely to be able to play a larger variety of musical styles. That means that every single guest at your wedding will be entertained, regardless of whether they like oldies but goldies or modern country music. Even more than that, if your tastes are quite eclectic too, a wedding DJ may make more sense to you.
  • ·         On the other hand, if you want a very “live” feeling about your wedding music, the band is definitely the go-to choice. If you are worried that you want to cover for more musical styles, you should know that some wedding bands can do that – at least up to a certain extent.
  • ·         Take into consideration the space you have at your disposal too. A large wedding band may not fit into a smaller reception venue, but if you go for a band with a few members, that should be more than fine. However, the most space-friendly option still remains the DJ.
  • ·         Last, but not least, do think about the fact that a band may cost more than a DJ. Of course, this depends on the reputation of the DJ or band as well and on just how long you want them to be there at your wedding.

For a wedding that will be unforgettable, don’t forget to check out with Flourtown Country Club. We have an amazing wedding venue waiting for your big day to happen here!
