5 Must-Have Wedding Photos

Wedding photography is a true art – and every photographer will “practice” it a different way. Regardless of what kind of wedding you will have, keep in mind that here are certain types of photos you should definitely shoot. What are the most important ones? Read on and find out more about the top 5 must-have wedding photos:

·
The one with you and you only. While these days both the bride and the groom get their fair share of attention when it comes to the Big Day, the bride will always be surrounded by an aura of beauty and grace. Therefore, your photographer will definitely suggest shooting at least one photo of you and your stunning wedding gown.

· The one with your bridesmaids. These ladies have been there for you on the most important day of your life. They do deserve to get into a “special shooting”. Plus, if you have chosen a particular color theme for their dresses and if your photographer is creative enough, this photo will look absolutely great in your wedding album. If you want to, this photo can be shot while you are getting ready – and this will allow you to include your mother and grandmother in the picture as well.

· The one with him and his groomsmen. “Boys will be boys” – and they do deserve a special photo in the wedding album as well. Talk to your future spouse about how he would like this photo to be: serious, funny or creative?

· The one with you and your spouse kissing. Depending on your photographer, this picture can be set on the outdoors, during the ceremony or even at sunset. Talk to your photography specialist before the wedding and see which option suits you best.

· The one with the wedding ring and with the wedding vows. Ask your photographer to immortalize the beauty of the moment you finally say “I Do” in a photo. This photo can be up-close or it can be shot from afar (especially if the landscape surrounding you is beautiful as well!)
Here at Flourtown Country Club, we aim to provide you with a splendid venue surrounded by the most beautiful natural landscape you have ever seen. Come visit us and see for yourself – we guarantee you’ll love what we have prepared for your Big Day!

Plan Your Dream Wedding On A Budget

As little girls, we dream about that perfect day when we marry our prince. When we grow up though, we start thinking that the dream wedding we have always wanted can be quite expensive. However, you should definitely not give up on your dream of having a perfect wedding, even if you are running on a tighter budget! There are many ways to save money and to have the wedding you have always wanted! Here are some great ideas:

·         Don’t rule out the option of having a winter wedding. Not only are winter weddings extremely romantic, but they tend to be less expensive as well. In between January and April, a lot of the wedding venues and vendors will offer considerable discounts, which will allow you to save a lot of money.
·         Take your time. Planning a wedding in a short amount of time is not only extremely stressful, but it can also be quite expensive too. Allowing yourself more time to plan the wedding means that you will stretch out the expenses on a longer period of time. Even more than that, it will allow you to “hunt” for special offers as well (and this will, again, save you a lot of money).
·         Previously-owned wedding items. Everything from the gown to the décor can be purchased from consignation stores. Keep in mind that these things have only been worn or used once, but that they can be much, much less expensive than the brand new ones. Who knows? Maybe your perfect gown is waiting on one of these racks!
Flourtown Country Club can provide you with your dream wedding venue – even if you cannot afford paying a fortune for this special day. Come visit us, take a look at our venue and convince yourself that we are your best bet!

Wedding Cocktail Table Ideas

Many brides and grooms choose to have a cocktail hour in between their ceremony and reception. In most of the cases, they go for this option either because they want to shoot their wedding photos in that time span or because they simply want their reception to start later.

Whatever your reason may be, make sure that you decorate the cocktail tables – so that they really put your guests in the mood for the “big party” that comes after. Read on and find out more about some of the best wedding cocktail table ideas out there:
·         Elegant simplicity. Cover your cocktail tables with white table linens and place a small vase of flowers in their middle. The flowers can be the same as your wedding reception’s or they can be something remotely related. Either way, make sure they go with the ambiance and that they look elegant and pretty.
·         Vintage lace. If you plan on having a vintage wedding, cover the cocktail tables with vintage lace-like linens and place a beautiful small vase of white roses in the middle. Preferably, choose a really short vase so that the flowers look as if they are blooming out of the table.
·         Tulle tables. Match your cocktail tables with your dress if you plan on wearing tulle for the Big Day. You can knot the table linens right under the table proper and wrap the foot of the table in tulle so that it looks like a skirt.
·         Vertical bow-ties. Choose an oversized tablecloth and tie it in the middle of the table’s foot with a  ribbon. When looked at horizontally, it will look as if it was a bow-tie turned upside down.
Flourtown Country Club makes for the perfect wedding venue. We can host your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all on the same location – and we can also make sure you receive the best service on the most important day of your life too. Contact us and learn more about our offer!

Masquerade Wedding Ideas

Masquerades are beautiful, elegant and they always seem to pertain to an entirely different era. We all love their mystery and their romanticism – and this is most likely why they have become a very popular wedding theme as well.

If you plan on having your own masquerade wedding, don’t forget to read on. We have picked up some of the best ideas out there – and we would be more than happy if they inspired you to create your own magic day as well.
·         Gold and silver. Venetian balls are all about opulence and luxury. You might not be able to serve your wedding food on actual gold plates, but there are other ways to bring this into your wedding. From your wedding favors to the cake, everything can be “touched” by these luxurious colors. Use them in moderation though! You want everything to look elegant!
·         Aside from gold and silver, black, white, deep green and blue are the colors most commonly associated with masked balls. Combine them in a way that makes the room look aesthetically balanced and everything will be stunning.
·         Feathers and masks. No masquerade is complete without the Venetian masks. Try to invest in quality masks that really look like “they belong” in that kind of context. Keep in mind that these masks can double as wedding favors for your guests too, so you can afford to pay a bit more for them. As for feathers, don’t be afraid to incorporate them in your bouquet, in the centerpieces and in the masks as well. Extra tip: usually, peacock feathers work best with masquerades.
·         Glass and mirrors. If you want to create the optical illusion of “light”, mirrors are your best friends. Use them on the walls, on the tables and wherever you get the chance. They will add dimension, grace and elegance to your wedding reception.
Flourtown Country Club makes for perfect masked ball weddings – so don’t hesitate to pay us a visit before you decide on your venue. With our gorgeous space and with the beauty surrounding us, your wedding will be a true success!

Winter Wedding Ideas

Winter weddings will always have something magic about them. It may be the beautiful surroundings, the still and cold vibes in the air, the approaching holidays or simply all of these. One thing is for sure: having a winter wedding is a great, romantic idea.

If you are planning your own winter wedding, don’t forget to check out with the following tips an ideas. We have picked up some of the best ones – so they will definitely inspire you to create something amazing.
·         A Great Gatsby winter wedding. If we had to choose one decade that symbolizes glamor, grace and opulence at the same time, the 20s would definitely be it. A Great Gatsby winter wedding (or even a Great Gatsby New Year’s Eve wedding) is a very stylish and “luxurious” idea that will truly make you feel like the star of the night. Feathers, sequins and pearls are just some of the “basics” of a Great Gatsby party – be creative with them and everyone will be impressed.
·         Dusty blue, blueberry and white. These 3 colors look absolutely beautiful together and they are “cold” enough to fit into a winter wedding. Use them on the flower decorations, on the bridal bouquet, on your bridesmaids’ dresses and even on the wedding cake and desserts and you’ll create something unique and beautiful.
·         A Santa Claus-themed wedding. If you want to be a bit playful and childish with your wedding, a Santa Claus-themed wedding can be a great idea. You can bring it into the colors of your wedding, into the décor, into the wedding cake toppers and on everything else. With a bit of imagination, you can combine childishness, innocence and elegance in an unforgettable wedding!
Flourtown Country Club makes for perfect winter weddings – and we would be more than happy if you chose us for your Big Day. With our stunning venue and with the excellent service we provide, your wedding will be just as you have always dreamed it to be – and more!

5 Ways to Add Sparkle & Shine to a New Year's Eve Party

Planning a New Year’s Eve party? You will definitely want to make it unforgettable and the décor you choose plays a really important role in this. Since NYE parties are all about sparkle and shine, we have put together a list of 5 amazing ideas to use for the 2015 NYE. Read on and find out more.

·         Glittery champagne bottles. Popping a bottle of champagne at midnight is a tradition that should not be left out for the New Year’s Eve. To make it even more of a glamorous event, cover the bottles in glitter. Simply remove the labels, spray them with glue and run them through powder glitter. You can choose whatever color you want for the glitter, but do make sure it’s something that goes well with the other parts of the décor too.
·         Sparkly balloons. Get some transparent balloons and fill them with sparkly confetti. At midnight, ask everyone to pop a balloon. It will be an explosion of glitter!
·         Shiny cake. For this NYE party, go for a very special cake. Ask your confectioner to cover it shiny silver or gold and it will look truly glamorous. If you want to, you can add sparkly accents as well. There’s never enough glitter for a New Year’s Eve party!
·         Glamorous tables. Choose sparkly table linens and pair then with beautiful centerpieces if you want to bring some of that “glam” on the tables. Combine matte, shiny and sparkly for a very stylish décor on the tables.
·         Stylish chocolates. Serve your guests with chocolates covered in edible glitter. Again, you can choose whatever colors you wish, but you may want to stick to a particular theme if you want everything to look elegant.
For a party everyone will remember, come visit Flourtown Country Club. Our beautiful venue will be perfect for those of you who want to mark a stylish entrance in a whole new year!

Ideas for Your Christmas Wedding

We all love Christmas and we all love weddings – and when they come together, there’s an explosion of excitement, warmth and beauty. If you are planning to have a Christmas wedding as well, you are definitely very happy about it. After all, both of these celebrations stand for friendship, love, family and commitment – the best values in nowadays’ society.

Because here at Flourtown Country Club we love Christmas weddings too, we have picked up some great ideas to help you create something unique, personal and unforgettable. Here are our tips:
·         Keep in mind the fact that “Christmas wedding” is not really enough when it comes to the theme. Think of something more specific if you want to create a reception that is well-balanced and tasteful. For instance, think of a party centered around Christmas colors or around Christmas presents.
·         Bring some fun to the party. Sure, great food and nice drinks are quite important at weddings, but remember that your guests will want to have some fun too (after all, this is a “double celebration”). Bring a very good wedding band or DJ, bring a fun photo booth and make sure every single guest (regardless of age) is entertained.
·         Christmas is a lot about taste as well. Don’t forget to bring your favorite Christmas flavors into the dishes and into the sweets served at the wedding. Even more than that, do take into consideration the possibility of creating unique signature cocktails based on these flavors too.
Come and organize your Christmas wedding with Flourtown Country Club. We are madly in love with being part of people’s Big Day and we would be really happy to help you have the wedding you’ve always been dreaming of. Our versatile venue will provide you with the background – come with your ideas and it will be unforgettable!

Christian Wedding Ideas

Weddings are marvelous celebrations of life, love and commitment – principles that lie at the very foundation of the Christian fate as well. If you want a Christian wedding everyone will remember, don’t forget to check out with the following ideas because they will help you create a beautiful Christian atmosphere for your Big Day.

·         Bible quotes. As a Christian who read the bible, you probably have some verses you find truly close to your heart. Why not include them in your wedding ceremony and reception as well? There are hundreds of ways you can do this (aside from incorporating them in your vows) – all it takes is a bit of creativity. For instance, you could write some of your favorite verses on the ribbons used for the bridesmaids’ bouquets. Also, you could write then on signs and place them around your wedding reception as well. Some couples also choose to have their favorite Bible verse written on the aisle runner as a symbol of their commitment to each other and to God.
·         Your wedding cake can play a very important role in creating a beautiful Christian wedding décor. Have the 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Bible quote on love written on the edge of your wedding cake and it will look amazing. Even more, it will remind people what love and marriage are all about!
·         If you want a very special moment with your spouse-to-be, plan a washing of the feet ceremony. This is highly symbolic for the Christian fate and it will make for a very emotional moment for everyone at the wedding.
Flourtown Country Club makes for amazing and unforgettable Christian weddings. The beautiful landscape surrounding our wedding venue, as well as the venue itself are more than suitable to “accommodate” your Christian wedding ideas – so do not hesitate to pay us a visit!

Hot Trends for 2014 Winter Wedding

The weather outside may be getting chillier, but for many of us winters make for amazing wedding seasons. There’s something about the inner warmth and joy associated with winters that makes a lot of couples settle for a winter date for their big day.

If you are among them, you’ll definitely love to learn about the hottest trends for 2014 winter weddings. We have put the best of the best in the following list so make sure to read it before you choose your wedding décor.
·         Sequins and glitter. There’s nothing more festive than sparkly dresses and décor and this winter’s really heavy on these. However, make sure you don’t overdo it and that you add glitter and sequins in moderation: your bridesmaids’ dresses, bit and pieces of the flower arrangements and/or parts of your China, glassware and/or flatware.
·         Dark red is very much “in” this winter and we all love it. If you want your wedding to look dramatic, romantic and slightly vintage, definitely go for the darker shades of red. It will look amazing both in your bridal bouquet and when incorporated into the centerpieces as well.
·         Blue has always been a very “winter-like” color and 2014 makes no exception from this rule. Aside from the all-time classics (such as ice blue), this year is very rich in blueberry shades of blue. Furthermore, plum and other shades of violet will look amazing with winter weddings too!
Flourtown Country Club is ready to host your winter wedding regardless of the décor you may choose. Our superb venue is really versatile and it will definitely suit your idea of a “perfect wedding” so do not hesitate to pay us a visit. We guarantee you and your guests will be impressed by the beautiful venue we have created and by the stunning landscape surrounding it as well.

5 Ideas for a Glam Wedding

Your wedding is one of the most festive and beautiful events in your life. Naturally, you will want to shine and be happy about all of the things comprising this big day. If you are planning for a very glamorous and beautiful wedding, you should definitely read on. We have gathered the top 5 ideas for a truly glam wedding!

Choose a venue that really goes with the theme. If you can’t go for a really tall ballroom, choose something that feels airy and “open” because this will contribute a lot to the “grand” atmosphere you want to create.

Lightning is everything when it comes to glam weddings, so always make sure to choose it the right way. There’s really no such thing as “too much”: garland lights, chandeliers, lamps and whatever else you find will do the trick and they will all add that special glamorous feeling you are searching for.

Sequins, mirrors and shiny décor will reflect the light in a very beautiful way and they will contribute a lot to the overall look of your wedding reception. Also, don’t limit yourself to the centerpieces and floral arrangements when it comes to decorating your wedding in the glam style. In fact, choosing sequin table linens may be a very good choice as well.

Since you will already add a lot of shine and sparkle to the décor, you should try to keep your color theme as simple as possible. Gold/white, silver/white and black/white combinations usually work best for this kind of theme.

Big flower arrangements can be a great idea too. However, make sure you don’t overdo it with the other décor items if you want to keep it classy and elegant.

Flourtown Country Club is the perfect wedding venue for glam weddings – so if you have your heart settled on this theme, do make sure to pay us a visit. We really believe our gorgeous location will make for a stunning wedding for you and your loved one!

Bridal Suite for your Wedding Day

As our lives go on, we live through many beautiful moments: the first day of school, the first kiss, the first relationship, graduating and so on. But none can “beat” the beauty of finally tying the knot!

As a bride-to-be, you’ve probably planned this a lot. In fact, you’ve probably “married” your dolls about a thousand times as a kid, imagining that they were you. But now that the big day is getting nearer, you are probably overwhelmed by the huge number of things you should be dealing with.

A bridal suite is a great way to allow yourself to take a deep breath before the big I Do. If you can find a wedding venue that offers you with a place to relax for a few hours before the wedding, do go for it because it will be definitely worth it! Here are some of the best things about having a bridal suite at your disposal:
  • You don’t have to rush. Most venues will allow their brides to spend a few hours in the suites before the ceremony so that they can take their time while getting ready.
  • You will not have to worry about your hairdo and makeup getting ruined before the big moment. Aside from your dress, your hair and makeup will contribute a lot to the way you feel walking down the aisle. Having a bridal suite at your disposal also means that you will be within walking distance of the ceremony site and that your hair and makeup will look perfect by the time you get there too.
  • You can shoot some really beautiful pictures in your bridal suite. You can include your bridesmaids, your mother and anyone else who will be there to help you get ready.
Flourtown Country Club is a wedding venue that can really make sure your wedding day will be amazing. We will offer you a private bridal suite, food and drinks and the most beautiful venue you have ever seen! Come visit us and convince yourself we’re the best choice there is!

Fall Wedding Décor Ideas

Without any trace of doubt, fall is one of the most romantic seasons ever. Beautiful and sad at the same time, this season is one of the most popular ones when it comes to weddings – and not without any trace of doubt. The weather now is not too hot and not too chilly, the landscape makes for perfect pictures and everything in the air is elegant and graceful as well.

If you are planning your own fall wedding, you will definitely love to acquire some inspiration when it comes to your décor as well. We have gathered some of the very best ideas out there. Check them out and inspire yourself to create the most beautiful wedding ever!

1. Generally speaking, “fall wedding colors” range between yellow and orange (sometimes with black and red accents). However, these are not the only fall colors you can settle for. In fact, there is a very wide range of other colors that look splendid for this season: cranberry, dusty blue, plum shades and so on.

2. Everything can be inspired by the fall: from the food you are serving to the drinks your guests will have and from your bouquet to the table linens. However, if you do settle on a particular color scheme, make sure not to overdo it. You only need “accents” in these colors – not to use them on every single wedding item!

3. Leaves and twigs make for wonderful center pieces, so do not be afraid to use them. Even if your wedding colors are not yellow and brown, you can always ask your florist to spray paint the leaves in your chosen colors (dark plum shades for the leaves and silver for the branches, for example).

Don’t be afraid to use your imagination because here at Flourtown Country Club, we can offer you a wedding venue that is as versatile and as romantic as fall itself. Come pay us a visit and convince yourself that this is the wedding venue you have been dreaming of ever since you were a little child!

Top 10 ways to Personalize Your Wedding Ceremony

Your wedding day! You have been dreaming about it ever since you were a little girl playing with dolls. You have been planning it, thinking it, re-thinking it and you have played its “movie” in your mind over and over again.

Just as the reception proper, your wedding ceremony should speak about you, about who you are and about your very own fairy tale story. It should reflect the most beautiful things in your life and it should reflect you as well. How do you personalize your wedding ceremony? Here are our top 10 favorite ways to do it:

1. The aisle. Forget about the red aisle runner and go for something really special, such as flowers or messages written by those you love.

2. The flowers. Pick flowers that really show the beauty of this occasion, but make sure you sprinkle them with some personality as well.

3. The bridesmaids. Your attendants don’t have to be traditional if you don’t want them to. For instance, their bouquets can easily be replaced by fancy clutch purses, by silk fans or by romantic candles as well.

4. The backdrop of your ceremony can also be personalized as well. Choose something that goes well with the rest of the wedding and with your own personality too.

5. The music. You don’t have to go for the good, old “Here comes the bride” if you don’t want to. Pick whatever song you find meaningful!

6. The chairs. Decorate the chairs nicely, but try to forget about the already traditional silk bow. Think outside of the box and be creative!

7. Place the chairs in a circle around the altar and you will create an intimate and “warm” feeling.

8. Offer your guests tokens of your gratitude at the ceremony too. Signature drinks (alcoholic or not) can be a great way to welcome them, for example.

9.Having an outdoor summer ceremony? Personalize silk fans, sun glasses and water bottles and offer them as wedding favors to your guests.

10. Your programs can reflect who you are as well, so do not hesitate to be creative about choosing them!

Flourtown Country Club will be more than happy if you chose us as your wedding venue. The splendid landscape surrounding us, our beautifully designed place and the warmth of our staff will be there to make sure everything goes smoothly on your big day. Even more than that, we will love to see you “take” our place and make it “yours” by personalizing it to fit your tastes and who you are!

Should I choose a DJ or a band?

Your wedding is a big day indeed and every tiny detail will have to be thought of with great care. From your bouquet to the wedding cake and from the wedding favors to the Thank You cards, it seems that the list of things to do is endless.

One of the things you will definitely not want to leave for last is the music you will be having at your wedding. Basically, you have two main options: going for a DJ or going for a band. Which one is more suitable for you though? Here are some tips you may want to consider:
  • ·         A DJ is more likely to be able to play a larger variety of musical styles. That means that every single guest at your wedding will be entertained, regardless of whether they like oldies but goldies or modern country music. Even more than that, if your tastes are quite eclectic too, a wedding DJ may make more sense to you.
  • ·         On the other hand, if you want a very “live” feeling about your wedding music, the band is definitely the go-to choice. If you are worried that you want to cover for more musical styles, you should know that some wedding bands can do that – at least up to a certain extent.
  • ·         Take into consideration the space you have at your disposal too. A large wedding band may not fit into a smaller reception venue, but if you go for a band with a few members, that should be more than fine. However, the most space-friendly option still remains the DJ.
  • ·         Last, but not least, do think about the fact that a band may cost more than a DJ. Of course, this depends on the reputation of the DJ or band as well and on just how long you want them to be there at your wedding.

For a wedding that will be unforgettable, don’t forget to check out with Flourtown Country Club. We have an amazing wedding venue waiting for your big day to happen here!

Gray and gold rustic wedding ideas

Fall and winter are perfect for rustic weddings and if you are still lingering on what theme you should choose for your wedding, do take this one into consideration!

Generally speaking, people associate rustic weddings with less elegance and class, but the truth is that choosing the right color theme can change everything for you. Switching from pink and red to gray and gold will add style and femininity to your rustic wedding and it will look absolutely amazing! Here are some of the best gray/silver and gold rustic wedding ideas to take into consideration:
Gold and copper can work wonderfully together and they will both add that “vintage” and “rustic” feeling. You can incorporate them in almost everything at your wedding: from the flower vases to the flowers themselves.
·         Also, going for a golden rustic tiara will look amazing. Simply get a tiara made out of leaves or dried flowers and have it sprayed with gold – you’ll look like a beautiful daughter of Mother Nature!
·         You can have your bridesmaids dress in gold and gray as well (you can either settle on one of the colors and its various shades or on both of them – which works especially well if you want to distinguish the maid of honor from the other attendants).
·         Your wedding cake can be gold or silver as well – it will surely add class and elegance to your rustic wedding!
·         You can have centerpieces made in the same style as the tiara mentioned above as well. White roses and golden roses will look stunning, but this works with wilder flowers and with twigs and branches as well (especially for the winter weddings).
If you want to have a wedding that brings together elegance and the beauty of nature as well, Flourtown Country Club is the place to be at! Come pay us a visit and you’ll be left in awe at the marvelous beauties surrounding our location!

How to create a wedding budget

Weddings are joyous moments, but we cannot all afford spending a fortune on one big party. Most of the couples out there have to stick to a budget – and believe it or not, you can still get a dream-wedding even if you don’t break the bank.

Creating a wedding budget is absolutely crucial if you want to limit your spending as much as possible. Follow the next tips and you will be able to pull off planning a beautiful wedding even when on a shoestring.
·         Start by knowing exactly what you really want and what can be classified just as an “extra-option”. For example, not many brides are ready to make compromises when it comes to their gowns, but they may be more open-minded towards less expensive locations which they can decorate themselves.
·         Establish a budget for each of the major items on your to-do list: food and drinks, décor, attires, bouquet, location, music/entertainment and stationery. Start with the most expensive part (which will most likely be either the attires or the location and the catering services) and end with the details that will not cost as much (e.g. stationery, which you can also do it yourself with a bit of skill and creativity).
·         If you really care about having something at your wedding, don’t just simply give up on it because you can’t afford it. There are always simpler and less expensive ways to really make your dream come true no matter what.
At Flowrtown Country Club, we will welcome you with our arms wide open. We want every single wedding happening under our roof to be amazing and special and this is why we are ready to offer you packages to suit your budget and your dreams at the same time. We love seeing happy couples tying the knot and our venue is just perfect for this very big moment of your life.

Be blemish free on your wedding day

Blemishes are always annoying when they appear – but when that happens on an important day of your life, everything can turn into a real disaster. Your wedding day is definitely not the moment to think that you need three layers of foundation to feel truly pretty and this is why taking care of your blemishes much before that is absolutely essential. How do you do that? Here are some tips that should keep your skin clean and nice:

  • ·         Start the skin prep months ahead of the wedding date proper and make sure you stick to a plan. No matter how good a product or a service may be, they will never be able to get you 100% blemish-free overnight. You do need to allow them to be efficient on your skin.
  • ·         Clean your face every morning and every evening before you go to bed. Make sure you use a foamy soap created especially for your type of skin and that you don’t use anything that dries out the skin too much. Contrary to the popular belief, dry skin is will not get you blemish-free. On the contrary, it may ruin your face even more.
  • ·         Apply proper hydration cream twice a day as well. Even if you have oilier skin, you still need hydration and choosing the right kind of cream can really go a long way when it comes to this.
  • ·         Once a week, apply a mask that is suitable for your type of skin. You can also use homemade natural masks as they are greatly efficient and they are really affordable too.
  • If you know you have been doing all these things and that you still have skin-related problems, visit a dermatologist or a cosmetologist a few months before the wedding. They will advise you what to do next!
  • As for the location of your wedding, don't forget about visiting Flourtown Country Club. We have the most superb venue to host your big day and it is very much likely that you will absolutely love it!

Party favors that your guests want to take home

Party favors are a great way of thanking your guests for having been there for you on a very important moment of your life – your wedding. However, many times the party favors guests receive are not exactly useful and they lack originality. If you want to avoid giving them pictures with you, custom key chains and other kinds of gifts they may not appreciate very much, then read on and find out about some cute party favors your guests will definitely want to take home with them:

  • ·         Personalized water bottles – if your wedding takes place in the summer your guests will get thirsty during the ceremony and a personalized water bottle will be more than just useful for them. Even more, if you design the water bottle in a cute way, your guests will definitely want to keep the bottles. Do keep in mind that plastic bottles are not your only choice and that glass bottles can be personalized too.
  • ·         Fancy coffee – everybody loves coffee and your guests will definitely appreciate having a cup of coffee made from really high quality beans. Pack them in personalized wrapping paper (you can have your wedding date, your name and anything you want written on them in a good looking way) and you’ve got the perfect wedding favor!
  • ·         Teacup plants – these are really cute and they can double as placement cards too. Succulent plants work very well with teacups and your guests will definitely want to take them home as a memory!
  • ·         Teacup candles – you can simply get some thrift store teacups and make your own scented candles in them. These wedding favors look very good and they are definitely appreciated by most of the people out there!

If you are searching for a magnificent location for your wedding too, do not hesitate to visit Flourtown Country Club. We have a stunning place that will make you feel like royalty for this very special day in your life!

Decorating your wedding using burlap

Every single choice related to a wedding can take a lot of thought and it can be difficult to make. From the earrings you will be wearing to the location of the party and from your flower girl’s basket to your wedding cake, there are a million choices you have to make – and, like it or not, you have to make them as quickly as possible because the wedding date isn’t really getting any farther.

The way in which you decorate your wedding location depends on a lot of factors – but the one that will matter the most will be what you like. If you want to decorate your wedding with spiders and skeletons (such as in the case of a Halloween wedding, for example), then go ahead and do it because there is nobody in the world who should tell you what is “right” or “wrong” when it comes to this.

Burlap can be a lovely and very stylish choice for wedding decorations. While everybody seems to be choosing satin and silk for most of their decorations, burlap can provide you with some uniqueness and freshness. Here are some ideas you may want to take into consideration when choosing burlap:
  • It can look absolutely amazing with deep reds, so don’t be afraid of playing around. Blood-red roses and burlap look stunning and they can work perfectly for your table setting and for your entire décor.
  • Burlap looks very, very good with pale colors as well. It can work very well with mint green and lilac purple and it can look amazing with pink too. Don’t be afraid to let your imagination run wild on this!
Burlap looks fabulous in the location offered by us at Flourtown Country Club too, so do not hesitate to check us out if you are still searching for the perfect wedding venue. Classy, cozy and spacious, our space is bound to make your big day the most spectacular and beautiful one in your entire life!

Where to Buy Umbrellas in Bulk for Your Wedding Day

When choosing your wedding date it's impossible to forecast whether it will rain or not.  It's really not something to worry about because when you have your wedding at the Fourtown Country Club we have a backup plan..and plan B if it rains and will share that with you during your consultation and walk through.

However, in recent years brides have used umbrellas as wedding decorations and they're quite lovely.  So you could embrace the rain and do that as well or simply have some really pretty umbrellas on hand.  Here are a few places online where you can buy or rent umbrellas for your wedding day:

If it rains well then you're covered (no pun intended) but if you don't use the umbrellas you may be able to return them as an unused item.  Ikea has some really fun colors and they're only $2.99 each.  Why not buy them in bulk and get an even better price?

Other things you should consider if it rains on your wedding day - shoes.  We've seen some brides embrace the rain and wear rain boots.  These make for some pretty cute photos and the bride that embraces the rain tends to have better wedding day memories than the ones who cry.  Which bride are you?  It doesn't matter to us because we're here for you.  Either way, we'll work hard to make sure that your wedding day is perfect...rain or shine.
