Fun Bachelor Party Ideas

Bachelor party ideas are too frequently all about alcohol and strippers - but if you want your friend’s bachelor party to be different than that, you should know that there are plenty of other fun activities you can all engage in. Following, we have gathered some of the very best (and most exciting) bachelor party ideas so make sure to read on if you need a dash of inspiration:

· Manly outdoor activities. Hunting, fishing, barbecue parties, golfing – all these activities are fun and they are enjoyed by most men out there. If you want to, you can turn your friend’s bachelor party in a casual gathering of friends on the outdoors – and it will definitely make for wonderful memories.

· Tastings. Get your soon-to-be-married friend to a fancy whiskey tasting, wine tasting, cigar tasting or even to a unique beer tasting. Your friend’s bachelor party can be a great “excuse” for spending money on things neither you, nor the groom would ever actually spend on. From classy whiskey to wide varieties of beer, everything’s possible so don’t be afraid to “spoil” yourselves with some really quality drinks/cigars.

· Get extreme. Is your friend the active type who would never say “no” to a bungee-jumping session? If you know he’s into this sort of things, you can plan the entire bachelor party over an extreme sport your friend enjoys: skiing, water-rafting, sky-diving and so on can be excellent ideas for building really unforgettable memories.

· Game night (or even game weekend). We all enjoy having a bit of fun over cards or video games, so there’s no reason in the world you shouldn’t plan a gaming bachelor party for your friend (especially if he’s the kind who genuinely enjoys these activities). Some good beer, some great games, a bunch of great friends and ordering the best pizza in town could turn into one of the best nights the groom-to-be has ever gone through!

Here at Flourtown Country Club, we can provide your soon-to-be-a-groom friend with the kind of venue both he and his bride-to-be will really love. Elegant, classy and really beautifully created, our venue can also provide your friend with a good variety of activities for his wedding day (including, but not limited to golf and pool activities) – so do not hesitate to introduce him to us if he’s still searching for the perfect venue.

Romantic Valentine Getaway Ideas

Being away from the “madding crowd” with your special someone is the kind of gift every single one of us appreciates. Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and since we know many of you are searching for the perfect and most romantic getaway destinations, we have prepared a short list to inspire you. So, if you need ideas on where to “run” with your love this Valentine’s Day, make sure to read on and find out about our top romantic destinations!

· Europe. If you want this Valentine’s Day to be really, really special, Europe is always a great choice. From Paris to Florence and from Madrid to Prague, Europe is sprinkled with marvelous cities where romance truly feels “at home”. These days, there are a lot of affordable deals available out there too, so if your budget may be an issue for you, don’t worry – you will definitely find something for your pocket.

· Mexico. Although it’s right across the border, Mexico feels like an entirely different world from many points of view. For example, Cancun is a top destination for lovers and newlyweds precisely because it is exotic, because it is not extremely far away from home and because it is surrounded by that special aura of passion and beauty all couples love.

· California. If you don’t want to leave the U.S. for your romantic getaway, California is your best bet. In between the glamour of Hollywood and the picturesque landscapes offered by Mother Nature, California is a really romantic place to visit for Valentine’s Day. For instance, La Jolla is a California destination where you can find everything from chic boutique hotels to astonishing restaurants.

If you are planning your wedding and if you have not yet decided on a wedding venue, don’t forget to put Flourtown Country Club on the list too. Comfortable, elegant and beautiful, our venue is precisely what you need for your Big Day!

How to choose a wedding color that makes an elegant wedding

If you are like the vast majority of brides in the world, you want your wedding day to be special from all points of view. The way your venue will be decorated can be really important, especially if you want everyone to remember your wedding as one of the best ones they have ever attended to. And if you want your wedding décor to be truly elegant, choosing a color to focus on is an absolute “must”. How do you do it though? Here are some tips you will definitely find helpful:

· The mood you want to create around the entire event will give you a broad idea of what type of color you are looking for. Pastels create a sense of dreaminess and femininity, nudes and shades of white are an all-time safe bet and brighter colors add liveliness and playfulness to a wedding. However, regarding the last category, keep in mind that it is very easy to choose a bright color you might regret later on (so make sure you think twice before deciding on that tangerine shade of orange!).

· Black is not necessarily a “forbidden” color when it comes to weddings, so there’s no reason not to use it. After all, this is the most elegant color and it can make for some classy, really beautiful wedding décor.

· If you want your wedding to be elegant, keep in mind the fact that your venue should look extremely good with your chosen color. In general, wedding venues are decorated in a way that makes them versatile and easy to personalize – even so, there might be colors that simply don’t work with the venue you have chosen.

If you are still searching for the perfect venue, don’t forget to pay Flourtown Country Club too! Our marvelous venue will definitely contribute to making your wedding day even more special than it already is!

Hors d'oeuvres or wedding dinner for your wedding?

Your Big Day is not about eating and drinking, that’s for sure. And yet, food tends to be a very important part in any wedding out there. If you are like most of the brides and grooms, you will want to make sure you choose the best meal options for you and your guests. But before you decide on the particular foods you want to serve, make sure you decide exactly on whether you want to serve hors d’oeuvres or a full dinner. Here are some tips to help you choose what’s best for your wedding.

·         How formal do you want everything to be? If you want your wedding to be really formal and elegant, serving your guests with an actual full-course dinner is probably the best option you have. Take into consideration the option of hiring waiters as well, because it will definitely add a lot to the wedding.
·         In general, hors d’oeuvres tend to be rather casual. If you want your wedding to be a less formal event, serving your guests with finger food will be a great option. Even more, think of the fact that hors d’oeuvres are very versatile and that you can go as fancy or as casual as you want with them.
·         If your plan to have a day wedding, serving your guests with a full-course meal might be too much. On the other hand though, serving them with hors d’oeuvres will provide them with delicious tastes and plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the party too. Also, keep in mind that if you don’t want your reception to be too long, hors d’oeuvres will be a better option for you.
Flourtown Country Club can host a wide range of types of weddings: from formal to rustic-chic. Come visit our website and our venue and we will host the most beautiful day of your life!
